Jeremy and Kaleigh Schlipf-

As the tempurature drops and snow piles up we are optimistic about the late season.  We have been hunting hard and have had seen two shooters; although we were unable to seal the deal on them, we did have the chance to do someIMG_0212.JPGdoe management during gun season. After gun season we are looking forward to heading out to a piece of property that we only have permission to hunt after the gun seasons are over. We'll be hunting till January 16th so hopefully we can conect with a mature buck!! Keep dreaming big, I know we are!! :)

Nic DiFilippo-
Well still hunting here! Hoping to enjoy muzzleloader season this weekend. Plan to head to an oats stand, a food plot we planted this spring along with an area that I know that still has some acorns. It is cold and windy - time to break out the new heater body suit and see what we can find. Got a couple of bucks showing up on trail cam that I would like to put a tag on.

Rich Fry-
Well, the season is winding down. Todd and I have had a slow season. It sounds like we were having the same type of season as a lot of the other states after watching all the other shows. We took off and tried to hunt every mourning for the first 2 weeks of Nov. We had high hopes, even though we did not have any prime hunting spots we were getting some nice bucks on trail cams passing through at night.  We had a little bad luck up here in N.IL. also. I got sick for 3 of the days Todd and I could hunt and missed filming.

Todd and I try to film our sons when they get a chance to hunt so that takes some of our time filming each other. Then my daughter had to be in hospital for appendix operation, ( everything turned out fine )but that took more time off filming.   Opening shotgun and Wis. Opening Rifle fall on the same weekend, Todd and I could not make either one. I was going to get a couple of our treestands to take to Wis. And on NOV. 22nd we had a TORNADO!!! Go right through 2 of our setups, I could not even get out to them.

Now, it is Dec., Todd coaches Basketball at the high school level which takes up a lot of time and I am the transportation for hockey and soccer. When we have gotten a day out to hunt it has been very cold. The first 10 days of Dec. it has not been above 32F. This is good if you have food plots. WE DON’T. So our hunting has shifted into low gear.
Good things that have happened this year. I have to say THANK YOU!!!!! To Cavan, of Timber Valley Fresh Scent. He was kind enough to offer the IL. Prostaff bottles of scent to use this season. I had sent out this email to all the IL. Teams about his scent   “Hey Guys, just wanted to send Cavan a note to say thanks for the scent he offered and sent out if you wanted it.

My son and I went to Wis. Rifle season, we did not get to start hunting until Wed. the 24th. At 8:00 AM my son and I set up a mock scrape at the top of a ridge on my folk’s farm. This is a spot where we would usually see rubs and scrapes, at this time there was no old scrapes. I used Cavan’s  doe urine and buck urine in a scent dripper. I had a deer hit the mock scrape that night at 6:21PM.

THANKS AGAIN  Cavan, I hope the rest of the guys have the same experience and send everybody a note and pics of your excellent products working.”

This season looks like it has been good for 2 of our Rockford area Prostaffers, Scott and Paul. If you have seen their show Scott tagged out in one day with 2 really nice bucks. Paul came in then with a really nice buck also. Paul is after 1 of 2 more bucks on his hitlist, and he does have food plots. He has spotted them feeding in those fields. Scott can’t film Paul due to work and I have some time off from work so he is letting me film him for part of muzzle loader season. I have seen the setup, we should be able to take one of Paul’s hitlist bucks.
