Althought the 2010 Missouri deer season is over things rarely slow down for the Midwest Whitetail Missouri staff. There are sheds to be found, stands to move, turkeys to hunt, food plots to prep, and the list goes on. Hopefully this blog will give you the information you need to become a more sucessful Missouri deer hunter. Enjoy!

March 9th,
Spring is here. We did not find any sheds from potential hit list deer this year. This is typical for Rick and I. I believe is is a combination of the size of the farms we hunt (small) and the deer habitat. Time to get out our spring to do list:
- Perform TSI on our 70 acre farm. The goal is to hold a few more deer on the farm and make it hunt bigger.
- Burn-off or mow our CRP, this is a contractual obligation with the program.
- Plant our spring food plots.
- Re-fresh mineral licks.

I encourage you to check out the following link to Dr. Grant Wood's website for some great information on aging and determining the gender of deer based upon it's skeletal remains.
http://www.growingdeer.tv/#ep/67 Dr. Woods is doing some pretty amazing things in an area of the country that is not typically associated with growing large deer. Also, I wanted to share some pictures I was fortunate enough to get this morning. Almost time to chase the longbeards!!
