"Remember the Hunt"
We all have fond memories of past hunts that we oft times think about. Like the time you shot your first deer. The time you caught a huge bass and got the Blazer stuck. Or maybe the time when your dad missed 4 gobblers in one day! (yes, these are just a few of my own)
One of the greatest things about hunting is the memories that are made. Everyone tries to keep those memories alive in some form. Many people mount their deer, turkey, or fish. Some prefer the shoulder mount while others go for a european mount. Other hunters are filming their hunts to keep the memories alive.
Almost everyone takes pictures of the animals they harvest. There are many great ways to keep your hunting stories alive for generations to come. Recently I decided to try my luck at one of the newest ways to "Remember the Hunt"!
Photo Books
For years we have been taking pictures and then throwing them into a photo album. In recent years many
companies have developed websites to create Photo Books. Photo Books are a way to incorporate pictures, stories, dates, and titles into a neat looking book.
I recently created a Photo Book of my hunt for "Wishbone". My book told the whole story from filming him in velvet to hero pictures after the kill. I used Walgreens webpage to design and purchase my Photo Book. (http://photo.walgreens.com/walgreens/storepage/storePageId=MemoryBooks)
You could use the Photo Books in many different ways. You could make a book every year with all of you hunting pictures. You could make a book for every buck you harvest. You could make a book of a hunting trip. I know other hunters that use them for trail camera pictures. The options are really endless as are the designs!
Create
I won't get into the details about how to create a Photo Book. The basic steps include going to a site
such as Walgreens Photo Center. You choose the design of your Photo Book, dowload pictures from you computer, choose the background design/ layout, and then purchase the book.
I spent about $30 on the Photo Book I created. You may be able to get them cheaper from other
websites or by using discount codes. In the end they are fun to create and a Great way to "Remember the Hunt"!!
