Dean Widmann lives and works in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has been a single parent for over 18 years to his daughter, Jeanne, who is currently in college. When he's not working or parenting he finds time to hunt mature whitetails in the Midwest. Dean has been on the Midwest Whitetail-Ohio pro staff for 3 years, but plans on focusing on hunting Indiana this season. He plans on hunting and filming with his 2 friends Dave and Jeff Kirstien. The group has a land lease in Martin County, aproximately 450 acres, with oak ridges, creek bottoms, and pasture land for cattle. It is also surrounded by thousands of acres of public land, consisting of old growth forest and bottom land that slopes toward the White River. We plan on managing this property for the long term, with frigid forage food plots, round up ready soy beans, and plenty of hay fields. They have strategically placed trail cameras on the property to help them get a good idea of the deer they will be after this season. Their property has not been hunted in over 6 years, and they are excited to help grow big bucks there in the future, so stay tuned and watch as they progress and manage this land!
Hit List for 2011
Hightower: We have a photo of him in late February chasing does so he survived the hunting season. He looks to be a 3 to 4 year old buck with a heavy body. We are looking forward to seeing him this year in the woods.
Deuce: He also is one of 2 other bucks that have a double brow tine on separate sides of the antlers.
Mr. Claw: He is one of three bucks that have a crab claw. The other two are younger but have the same type of genetics. I believe this buck is 3 1/2 years old.
