I have always loved hunting land, ever since I was a youngster. One of the things I enjoy most about hunting is just being on the land - actually more like a part of the land. It is a spiritual experience to immerse yourself fully into the great outdoors that God created for us. I love it. That is why I can sit for days on a tree stand with a smile on my face when it is ten degrees out and feel like I actually did something useful. It was useful - I renewed my soul. I am not exaggerating. I am sure you feel this way too. I love being on the land - seeing what is around the next corner of the railroad tracks or over the next hill.
Never has that feeling of connection to the land been greater than when hunting my own property - land that I have worked on to see it grow, change and flourish. I love it. The feeling is almost addictive - well maybe it is addictive, but I can think of a lot worse things to be addicted to!
When I am sitting on stand now I am not thinking about where I need to move or which stand to hunt the next day. Rather, I spend my time thinking of how I might be able to benefit the habitat around me to make it a better environment for growing whitetails. In the process, I also look for ways to create the kind of feeling - the experience - I want while hunting. After all, it is this experience that brings us back. What we look at all day is a big part of that experience.
So it should come as small wonder that I have invested very dollar I have in hunting land - namely deer hunting land. And further, it should not be a surprise that I have used the experience I have gained creating Midwest Whitetail to produce another website that fits right in with my passion for hunting land.
Midwest Whitetail Properties (MidwestWhitetailProperties.com) is the result of that effort. Actually, Iowa pro staffer, Jason Vickerman created the site. He taught himself HTML programming and built this thing from scratch - a custom site. It is an amazing first website. In fact, it it would even be an amazing thousandth website - it is a great looking, highly functional site that I hope you will check out and enjoy.
I have two goals with this new site. First, I want to inform and teach deer hunters and deer managers how they can better buy, sell and improve whitetail deer hunting land. This is the focus of the site, in a nutshell. We will post a new regular video every two weeks about all kinds of subjects related to this theme. I have some expertise in this area, but even with years of experience, there is much I don't know - so we will pull in true experts to make this a resource that is highly credible and useful. Not just fluff, but real meat and potatoes about every subject related to buying, selling and improving. I think we can do a great job of this, I really do. I am excited to see what we can both teach - and learn.
My second goal is to connect sellers and potential buyers through advertising opportunities for realtors and for-sale-by-owner sellers. If you have land to sell and are interested in being a part of this new venture, please contact me and I will get you set up.
We are in this for the long-haul. Just like Midwest Whitetail grew from a small seed, I expect this project to also gain increasing momentum each week and month.
I love hunting land - I can't wait to see what all we can do with this new site. Please check out Midwest Whitetail Properties.
Have a great day!
