Some Early Season Action

After punching her buck tag, and one of her doe tags, Ashleigh is now filimg me in my quest to do the same! I am trying to take it easy right now, and not burn myself out by going out too much early on. I have done this in years past in my

excitement at the season finally arriving, and only end up getting frustrated to the point of not having fun. In this approach I really enjoy every opportunity I take, and keep my spots fresh.
Our main focus for the next couple weeks will be to get as many doe tags filled as possible. We each have (in Ashleigh’s case had:) 1 buck tag and 4 doe tags, two in one region and 2 in another, for a total of 10 tags between the two of us for Montana .
Most of the areas we hunt have a very high concentration of deer, and pretty much every landowner wants as many does as possible taken off. We absolutely LOVE to shoot does as it really helps build to confidence with shooting skills at the moment of truth. It also makes for some great footage! We process all of our own meat so we make it a goal every year to put enough meat in the freezer so that we do not need to get any store bought meat from one season to the next. All this being said I also wouldn’t mind tying my tag around a good set of antlers early on. If I do happen to get a chance to fill my buck tag early it would take the pressure off and free me up to grab the Hoyt and chase some antelope and elk!
Ashleigh has definitely started our season with a bang, and we hope that pace continues and we are able to bring more good hunts to the show over the coming weeks. Thanks for following along.

God Bless,
