Minnesota Show is Back in Style

20110919070720092.jpgTim Filiowich and Charlie Krueger produced the Minnesota Show in 2009 and 2010.  Tim fully intended to produce it again in 2011 but ran into a time crunch that he wasn't anticipating.  After producing the preview show, he realized that it was not going to be possible for him to get the work done this season given his family and job commitments.  I appreciate their efforts over the past two years, but as a result of this conflict, we were left playing catch-up.  And we missed a couple of episodes

However, we now have the kinks worked out - I think - and the first show is live on the site.  We are now producing this show here in our Albia office and it will air every Sunday morning This episode features an exciting hunt from Chad Stenglein and Craig Warner in North Dakota.  Congratulations guys on a good hunt and a good story captured on video.  It is not as easy as it looks to get a good story (not just a kill) on video.  They captured the true spirit of the early season hunt.  Please take a look at Episode 2: North Dakota Double Take.

THE MIDWEST WHITETAIL INTERNS

As I mentioned, we will be producing the show here in our Albia office. This series will actually be produced by our intern staff.  We use interns to produce several of our shows and that has been a great asset for the company - and hopefully for their futures.  This year's interns are Josh Neville, IA, Aaron Warbritton, MO, Hunter Kailos, VA, Sam Soholt, SD, Ben Koopman, IL.  All except Josh are actually graduated seniors!  The guys get great experience - an experience that they could never get in school.  They are working under full-time employees Jared Mills, Greg Clements and Drew Yarkosky.  Our interns are really coming on strong.  I have been very impressed with their work.  Man, what I would have given to have done what they are doing when I was their age!  I love this program.  We will be continuing this intern program into the future and I will invite applications for 2012 sometime after the season.  Please don't send any resumes yet!

There are many really good shows on the site right now.  I love getting up each morning with my cup of coffee and watching all the shows.  I am fan like everyone else.  I don't micro-manage the staff so I rarely know what the shows are going to be about until I watch them for the first time on the website!  I trust our producers.  They are doing a great job.

I invite you to sit back and enjoy all the shows this year, but I just wanted to use the blog to bring particular attention to the Minnesota since it is now back up and running - every Sunday morning.

Thanks for all your support.  Have a great (and safe) week!
