Michael DeRyder was born and raised in Southern Michigan and resides in the historic Village of Bellevue. In fact, he'll probably never leave. He went on his first rabbit hunt in Bellevue at the age of 3. His dad told him that he'd never have to miss a hunting trip as long as he didn't need to be carried. Dad made good on his word and for the last 25 years, Michael has been chasing and hooking just about every fur, fin, or feather Michigan has to offer.
Michael uses the woods as an escape -- and after enduring law school he needs it. The aspect of hunting that he enjoys most is watching young kids show an interest in the sport. He believes that hunting, and the self-sufficient lifestyle it teaches and passes on to each new generation of enthusiasts is one of the core principles that the United States of America was founded on. The right to provide for a family by tilling the ground and eating the game is an inherent principle that is built into many of the rights and liberties that we are so blessed to enjoy here in the Good Ole' U.S. of A.
