He is supported by his wife Amy, 8 year-old son Hunter, and 4 year-old daugther Brooklyne. By trade, Bruce is a land surveyor for a local firm in Holland, MI. Aside from being a "whitetail fanatic", Bruce has a passion for wildlife photography and management. He is a firm believer and supporter of QDM.
Bruce has always been attracted to the woods. Whether it's shed hunting in the spring, scouting in the summer, or 22' up in a tree come fall, Bruce feels a part of something "special"...something that he finds at his family's 100-year-old farm, which has provided him with many great memories. These are memories that he hopes to pass on to his son, Hunter, as well as the viewers of Midwest Whitetail. Bruce has high expectations for the fall of 2009 and the season will play out 100% fair chase on public and private lands of western Michigan.
Bruce's Hit List
Bruce will be doing most of his hunting with Troy Spooner this year
. Bruce will be doing most of the camera work this year but plans on filling his tag as well. This will be a fun pair to watch as they chase these big bucks across public and private land in Michigan.

"TITAN" -In August of 2008, Bruce and Troy spotted a buck that resembled Titan in a bean field about 1/2-mile to the south. It was at first light and as Troy drove by the field, he could make out a large framed 10-point that had a rack that reached quite high above his head. The following words are Bruce's: "I estimated the buck to be in the mid 150s as a clean ten, but saw him for maybe 30 seconds total as he made his way out of the field. I kept checking the field with a spotting scope, but never saw him again in 2008. In late July of 2009, Bruce and Troy were out spotting when they saw a group of bucks in the corner of a bean field. We stopped the truck and got out the spotting scope. As we glassed the group, a huge framed buck eased out of the standing corn." As they laid eyes on him, he appeared to be the "Titan" buck from 08, but somewhat bigger and more massive. He was back!

"CAGE" is a buck that appeared with Titan in the same field. He is a clean typical with a tall G2 on his left side. His rack from the side gives the appearance of a cage - thus the name "Cage" seemed appropriate. Bruce and Troy have no other history with this buck, like many of the bucks they see in the area. Most bucks are visible for a few weeks then vanish completely due to excessive hunting pressure.

"FULL-HOUSE" is an interesting buck. He is always hanging out in a fairly open area with a group of smaller bucks. According to Bruce, "We may have some problems locating him once the crops are harvested because he doesn't seem to have a general area he prefers. He is bedding in a standing cornfield that borders a creek-bottom. The creek bottom has almost no trees along the edges for cover. We anticipate he will head east to the thick woodlot, but cannot say for sure. Bruce chose the name "Full-House" since he has a little of everything - Long beams, split brows, stickers and a kicker between his brow and G2.

"BIG-EIGHT" is a buck we saw quite regularly. He was always in the same general area and typically alone or with the "Crazy Brow" buck. Bruce may have seen them both together last September as they followed a hedge row across the property line and crossed the road in front of him. They both had velvet hanging from their antlers and blood-red antlers - where is the camera when you need it? The Big Eight got his name due to his stature as a big clean 8-point.
