Brady Miller is a forester for the Department of Defense with BS degrees in forestry and wildlife management from Purdue University. He works daily in the woods of southern Indiana managing the forest for quality timber and wildlife. Brady hunts primarily on the heavily forested federal property that he helps manage but also hunts some private property. Growing up in the rural country setting he was introduced to hunting and fishing at a very early age by his father and close family friends and has been hooked on the outdoors every since. Brady is 32 years old and lives near Bloomfield, Indiana with his wife Melodie who also enjoys hunting and fishing. She hopes to take her first deer soon to go along with the turkeys she’s been able to harvest. Brady is the Greene County Coordinator for the Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH) ministry where he works with several friends from their local In-Pursuit Outdoor Ministries group to promote the program and raise money to pay for the processing of donated deer and livestock to feed the hungry in the county. Brady looks forward to pursuing woods weary whitetails in the southern Indiana hills this year.

The following two bucks were seen together throughout the summer of 2011. One is a very nice 8 point with long G2’s and the other is a big 10 point. Both deer were using a summertime mineral lick, neither has been seen since velvet loss however so the search is on for either of these bucks as they are both great southern Indiana bucks.

20111021132526984.jpg I got pictures of this buck traveling between two recent timber harvest areas. The area is very thick but there are some good pinch points of habitat transitions that I plan to utilize while hunting him. He is a wide 8 point with long brow tines who looks to be an old mature buck.

20111021132527203.jpgThis is another great buck, notice the unique “flop” browtine. I believe he is using the thick new growth from a recent timber sale as his core area. Hopefully I can catch him traveling the edge of the recent timber sale area and the mature woods surrounding.

20111021132527468.jpgHere is a nice doe, I plan to shoot as many of these as my tags allow this year! In fact they are probably near the top of my hit list. I love to eat venison and plan to donate a few deer to the FHFH program this year as well. Please join me in the pursuit of doe management to improve the habitat and feed those less fortunate.
