Season Tactics

With Archery Season almost half over here in the North East its time to evaluate the options to tag a mature buck before the guns start blazing. One of the things we are going to focus on is doe concentrations along with pinches and funnels. We have been saving our best stands and its time to start utilizing some of them. With the right winds we will look to cash in on our off season prep work. The lack of deer activity towards the end of October has us hoping that our plans will pay off as we enter our sweet spots in these next two weeks of November. Look for mature bucks to start visiting these doe hot spots on the down -wind side of these areas. Be sure to keep your scent control system in good working order. Now is not the time to give up on that. We like to wash our clothes every three hunts in order to maintain as much scent control as possible. Lately we have been getting some pictures of our number one hit list buck Lucky 7. Unfortunately it’s been mostly night pictures. We look forward to more day light activity as the weather cools and the first doe comes into estrous.
