Late season plans

As the gun season winds down here in the NE we will begin our late season quest for a mature buck. This will find us concentrating on various food sources and focusing on deer yarding areas. Food sources will include harvested corn lots, standing soybean plots, Frigid forage brassicas and winter hardy oats. With the pressures of gun season taking its toll the deer herd they have managed to find refuge in sanctuary areas that get little to no pressure. Finding these areas can be difficult but with some in-season scouting and long range observation you may find yourself in the thick of the action as the season comes to a close. Our plans are to hunt mostly on the ground until the time is right to visit our late season stands for the closing days stay tuned to see if we can beat the odds and tag a late season giant!
