Mike Versland - Metro
The season is winding down and so are my chances to tag another deer. Overall I am happy with how my 2011 season went, but unfortunately I only took one deer so far this year. I hunted hard during the Wisconsin regular gun and muzzleloader seasons, but for the first time since 1988 I did not shoot a deer with my gun. I had some chances on some does early, but with a buck tag in my pocket I wasn’t about to shoot a doe. Towards the end of the season I decided I would shoot a doe, but I never got a clean opportunity to shoot one.
December 22nd is my last day of teaching before we start winter break. I am excited to have some time off. Hopefully I will get out and do some more archery hunting in both Wisconsin and Minnesota when I am not celebrating Christmas with my family. Speaking of Christmas, it came early this year. The deer I shot on November 5th is already back from the taxidermist. He makes an awesome addition to the trophy room.
Good luck and hunt safe!
