20100810094438615.jpgKurt Amundson is an avid outdoorsman and outdoor writer from Starbuck, Minnesota.  His big passion is hunting whitetail deer.  He spends several days in the stand each fall in pursuit of big bucks.  Kurt and his wife Lara own a real estate/insurance agency in Starbuck.  This has allowed him to market and sell hunting land which is another passion of his.  He has purchased farms in Minnesota and Iowa and spends many hours improving the habitat by planting food plots, native grasses and trees.  Kurt has four boys that all enjoy hunting.  They spend many days in the fall hunting deer, turkey, pheasants and waterfowl.  To say they are a hunting family is an understatement.  This fall Kurt and his sons will be taking turns filming one another.

Kurt’s outdoor articles have been featured in Midwest Outdoors, The Outdoor News and The Outdoors Weekly.  He also gives whitetail seminars every year in the states various states in the Midwest.

Kurt's Hit List

The following descriptions are in Kurt's words:

20090817191606656.jpg"The Apple tree buck": (165” inch last year) I have two sheds and three year's worth of trail camera pictures of this buck.  I have never seen him in the wild, but he lives in a one to two square mile area.  This buck is very smart and somewhat nocturnal.  He adjusts to the food, and has been seen in person by the neighbors.

20090817191554940.jpg "River Bottom Buck": This buck cruises the river bottom on my NW Minnesota property.  He is very symmetrical and seems to be active during daylight hours.  He may be the buck I passed up last year as he was within rifle range, but across the property line.  Hopefully this year I can a closer look.
