Nic DiFilippo has filmed deer hunts professionally for five years. When Nic is not filming hunts, he is teaching High School Social Studies and Video Editing to the students at Mahomet- Seymour High School. Nic lives in central IL with his Wife Kristen, 9 year-old daughter Kara, 4 year-old daughter Brianna and one year old daughter Emma. Nic does the majority of his hunting in central IL with an occasional trip to southern IL. Nic’s hunting land consists of small suburban tracts that are uniquely challenging and present an interesting story. Nic feels very lucky to have three cameramen available to film for him over the season. Pro staffers: Austin Moore, Alex Chapman and John Melchi will be filming for Nic this season
.
Nic will also be very busy behind the scenes this year teaching the students at Mahomet-Seymour High school how to produce the MW-Illinois show. That should be a blast to watch!
Nic's Hit List
At this time, Nic has three deer on his hit list for this coming fall.
"HIGH BROW EIGHT": This buck has been the most visable buck for Nic this summer. Nic has been able to film the deer four different times. This buck also makes nightly appearances in the same field almost every night. "High Brow Eight" will be difficult to hunt. He is in an area with lots of hunting pressure and several other hunters know about this deer. Nic looks forward to the challenge of hunting this buck on the small urban tracts that he has lined up for this fall.
"PERFECT EIGHT AND STICKERS": "Perfect Eight" and "Stickers" are two bucks that have been running together this summer. Alex Chapman found these deer and gave Nic a call. Nic was able to get some great footage of them one night in late July. "Prefect 8" is a high-tined 8 that looks to score in the mid 150’s. He has great mass and balance to his rack. The feature that sticks out the most is the length and curves of his main beams.
"Stickers" is a buck that runs with "Perfect Eight" during the summer. "Stickers" looks to be a 160-inch 10-point with numerous stickers and flyers. Both of these deer live in an area with a large amount of hunting pressure bordering a large section of sanctuary cover. These bucks will be targeted during the rut and late season when Nic hopes they will leave the sanctuary cover regularly.
