Brandon Leep and Jake Grevenstuk

20090825095319266.jpg Brandon Leep was born on Nov. 15. That's right, he was born on the traditional gun season opener in Michigan. Many would agree that Brandon was meant to be born on that particular day.  Brandon grew up on a farm in Southwest Michigan and hunting became his true passion. He likes to spend every free minute he gets out looking for deer and scouting for the next season. Skipping school to spend time in the woods wasn't an unusual occurrence for Brandon growing up.  Brandon will partner with Jake Grevenstuk and the pair will hunt farmland in the Martin area of southwest Michigan.

20091023154428622.jpgJake Grevenstuk is 27years old, married to wife Michelle, 1 dog 'Porter' german shorthair pointer. Raised on a onion farm in Martin, Michigan; 2 doors down from Brandon Leep.  Been hunting together since we were kids.  Currently residing in Otsego, Michigan on 13 acres.  Really excited about filming this year.  The challenges we face as we try to film and hunt at the same time are helping us to think more seriously about how, when ,where we hunt and in my opinion its helping us step up our game as we think more critically about each hunt. Personal goal for the year is to shoot and film a 135" buck or better. Getting to film w/ Brandon this year is going to be a lot of fun and kind of a throwback to younger years.  Now we're older and more experienced hunters its great to share our skills together and grow our hunting prowess.  Hunting for me has always been a bit of an escape of the hectic work of Landscaping. A time to relax and enjoy the nature that God has created for us to marvel at.  I'm blessed to be a steward of what He has given to us and proud to be its caretaker; all part of His perfect design. I enjoy working with and being a member of conservation groups like DU, RMEF, and The Nature Conservancy.  As a landscaper, taking care of the earth and enhancing it, are things I do everyday and hunting and all it includes is a natural carryover and it is a true passion for me to experience. Our family loves to eat venison (Porter too) and what better way to provide sustenance. I think Midwest Whitetail will be great fit and I'm glad to step up my game for what MW has to offer the viewers. I am anticipating an exciting, face-paced, and unforgetable season!

Brandon's Hit List

Brandon continues to be involved with farming and his daily dealings with many of the local landowners.  This has certainly helped open up a lot of hunting ground for Brandon and Jake to pursue whitetails on in Michigan.

"BIG CAL": This is a buck that Brandon and Jake aren't certain they've seen before. It's living on a farm that they have hunted lightly in the past but it's certainly a buck worthy of the hit list. It looks to be a mature 10-pointer that hangs around with a pretty respectable 8-point that could make the list as well.

"KICKER": This buck is a mainframe 10-point with a kicker point that he's added since Jake and Brandon hunted the him last year. He's hanging out with a number of bucks in a summer bachelor group, a couple of which just may be hit list material.

Here is a picture of the bachelor group that "Kicker" has been hanging out with.  Make sure you keep checking back to see if Brandon and Jake add one of these bucks to their hit list.
