Clifford Neames’s life is 24/7 whitetail deer. His roots are in the Deep South, but his search for numbers of quality bucks led him to Illinois, where he spends almost half of each year. His entry to the outdoor industry came as a writer for North American Whitetail magazine. A few years later, this grew into a Pro Staff position on a popular outdoor television show, where he polished his skills with a video camera, and learned to tell stories using a visual medium.
For the past six years, he has managed The Quail Shed, an outfit that specializes in trophy deer hunting. This has meant an even deeper commitment to his passion, and the pursuit of mature bucks. Clifford is a past president of the Mississippi Bowhunting Association, but can also be seen carrying a muzzleloader on occasion because, “Deer season is still open!” Joining the staff of Midwest Whitetail – Illinois is the next step, and a great opportunity to share his forty years of experience in the field with others fascinated by these incredible animals.
