Shane Sutter has been deer hunting since he was 12 years old. He has always hunted with his three brothers (Brian, Jimmy, and Zach) and his cousin Cole Sutter. For the past 3 or 4 bow seasons, Shane has been trying to up the ante on the way he hunts and the quality of deer he shoots. Shane hunts in northeast Missouri and this season he will mainly be hunting two new properties he has never hunted. Shane’s goal this season is to shoot a 4 1/2 year old or older deer. He recently graduated from Illinois State University with a Construction Management degree and is working as a carpenter building homes. He is newly married to an amazing girl named, Julia, and she will be hunting with me.
Shane’s wife Julia is also 23 and recently graduated from nursing school. She works as an RN on a step-down intensive care unit. This will be her very first season of deer hunting, so you will get to see her grow as a deer hunter. Shane's goal for Julia might be a little high, but he is hoping she can shoot a 3 1/2 year old buck and maybe a few does. She will be hunting the same deer as Shane.

Shane and Julia's 2009 Hit List
The following words are Shane's.
"PLANTER": We have nothing but bad memories with this deer. Several members of our team have had encounters with him. Joe Knochel hit this deer in mid-October and I filmed his brother Rick shoot at him, as well. In late bow season, I watched him slip past me, just out of range. He is monster of Missouri whitetail and we were fortunate to find one side of his shed antlers and my dad found the other side while planting beans in the spring. His sheds from last year scored in the 170s. The only bummer is, we will only be able to hunt this deer during the late season.
"CASPER" is a 4 1/2 year old we videoed and had several encounters with last year. He has blossomed from a 125-inch 8-pointer to a 150-inch 9-pointer. I am looking to get on this deer, from the start of the season to mid-October.
"SATCHEL": This is at least a 4 year old and we have several trail camera pictures of him. We think he is going to score low to mid 150s. We are looking to get on this deer late in October to mid-November.
"HUMMER": This is a new deer for us this year. He is 140-145 inch 10 pointer that is on the hit list for now, because we are unsure of his age. We only have one set of trail camera pictures and it was difficult to tell if he is 3 1/2 or 4 1/2. If we find he is 3 1/2, any encounters with him will end in him walking away - until next year.
"MINI STICKS": This is a nice 3 year old scoring in the low 130s. Hoping to get Julia on this deer early in the season.
"SCRUBS": This buck is a mature deer that doesn't have the rack to go with the body. We will be getting after him in late October and November.
"PRINCE": This buck is a beautiful main frame 10 pointer that is 4 1/2 year old. We hoping to get on this deer in mid October and all the way through November.
