Brandon LaFever has lived in Iowa his entire life. He was born in Sac City, Iowa on October 18, 1972 and was introduced into bowhunting in the fall of 1982 by his uncle Terry. Since then, Brandon has bought a bow tag every year. Brandon graduated Storm Lake senior high in 1991 and went into the auto body business for 2 years. When he realized that was a year-round job, with not much time for bowhunting, he quickly changed professions.
He then pursued the concrete industry specifically because he knew there was a typical fall layoff. He would have more time to hunt. Brandon went to work for a very reputable employer and quickly moved his way to the top where he enjoyed the fringe benefits of being able to hunt much more often. After a twelve year stay with his employer, Brandon and another co-worker decided to venture off on their own and formed L&S Concrete. L&S has been going strong for the last five years. This really gives Brandon the time and freedom it takes to chase trophy whitetails. Brandon was fortunate enough to purchase forty five acres of timber two years ago just to have his own little slice of heaven.
Brandon's Hit List
Brandon has a great hit list started already but has a lot more bucks to show you that he has on film. Make sure you keep checking back to see the updates made on his hit list.
The following words are Brandon's.
“THE BIG 8”: This is a buck I just got trail cam pictures of on August 9th. I got him on a freshly placed camera and he will likely be one of my number one targets for 2009.
The second target will be “HIGH TOWER”. I got the first pictures of this guy on August 8th. This buck is actually on my personal land so it would be an extra special harvest if the opportunity arises.
The third target will be the “CRAB CLAW 9”. This buck is also on my land and I started getting pictures of him on August 4th. Although this appears to be a very nice buck, I want to get a closer look at him to make sure he is old enough.
“DOUBLE 3 NINE”: Again this is going to be another borderline buck I want to see a little closer before pulling the trigger.
“BROW TINES”: This buck looks like a mature deer but I can't really tell a lot from the pictures. I'll have to make a game day decision on this one, as well.
