Desi Mayner
has hunted with Tyler and Josh Ridenour for many years. If Desi can't take down a buck with his Hoyt, chances are very good that he can do it with his arms. Desi played college football at Eastern Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University. He now coaches varsity football at the high school level and spends the rest of the time in the woods.
Like Tyler and Josh, Desi will focus much of his in-state hunting on family-owned property in the Livingston County area. Through plenty of dedication and hard work, the land is starting to produce some outstanding deer. He will also be visiting Ohio, Iowa and Missouri to keep his season going.
Josh Ridenour
is 20 years old and loves to spend as much time as he can in the woods hunting or behind the camera. This year Josh will be spending a lot of time out of state, but still hopes to spend the majority of his time in Michigan. He will be in Alaska for two weeks at the start of September for a moose hunt with his dad and grandpa. After Alaska, Josh will be back to Michigan for the start of season then off to Iowa for the start of the rut. Josh is taking this upcoming fall semester of school off so he can work more, but mostly hunt a lot more! "I love to spend time in the woods with my friends and family and mostly my brother Tyler, who I film with." Josh and Tyler have many new properties this year to hunt, which hold some nice Michigan bucks. I am very happy to be part of Midwest Whitetail- Michigan and have all the viewers follow our season.
Tyler Ridenour will find ample time to be in the woods during his last year of classes at Eastern Michigan University. The 2010 season will bring many exciting changes; Tyler has gained access to new properties in neighboring counties that have shown good indication of holding several outstanding bucks. Along with new bucks to hunt and ground to learn Tyler will have a new filming partner, Adam Millard. Adam is from Oakland Co. a short drive east of Tyler's family farm in northern Livingston Co. The majority of his season will be spent in his home stomping grounds of southern Michigan aside from one trip to Kansas to hunt the grass lands and creek bottoms that have become so well known in recent years. Tyler is very grateful to be a part of Midwest Whitetail Michigan and look forward to sharing what is sure to be an eventful season with all of the viewers.
Desi, Josh, and Tyler's Hit List
Josh, Tyler and their unofficial brother, Desi Maynor will be a fun team to watch this year. They will not only show you footage of some good bucks, they will show you exactly what hunting is all about. Check out their hit list introduction show (Eposide 2) on the Michigan page.
"WANNABE": Wannabe is a buck the Ridenour group has plenty of history with. He earned his name due to a resemblance to a tremendous buck that was taken in the area a few years ago -- but he's not quite that caliber just yet. Wannabe is believed to be a 4-year-old and should score in the 140s and Tyler was all over the buck the past two seasons but just couldn't seal the deal. This year, however, could be different.
"SKYSCRAPER": On Halloween night last fall, Desi Mayner was looking for a treat in the form of this sweet buck. Unfortunately, Skyscraper played a trick and escaped. This buck has crab claw beams and is a 3-year-old that should top 120 inches.
"LUCKY 7": Lucky 7 is a buck that the guys have seen a ton this summer. He's an above-average buck for the area and has been very visible. He's not a giant but he's certainly big enough to make the list in this heavily-pressured region.
"WIDE LOAD": This buck looks to be a mature buck and was spotted on a piece piece of ground the Ridenour group has gained access to. The footage isn't perfect but it's good enough to know this is a buck worth chasing.
"SIXPACK": This is another buck hanging out on the new property that the Ridenours don't have any history with. But he's a super-tall buck with a 6-point configuration. He also looks to be a 3-year-old. Hopefully, the guys can get a better look at him soon.
