Dean Widmann is 46 years old and is a concrete contractor by trade.  Dean is a single parent of his 17 year old daughter that he hopes to get into the hunting world some day.  Dean will be primarily hunting in Ohio and Indiana this year.  He dedicates a lot of time to preparing for the upcoming hunt by planting food plots, placing game feeders, utilizing trail cameras, clearing shooting lanes and putting up tree stands.  Dean is a strong supporter of  quality deer management by hunting mature bucks and harvesting does.  Dean will be hunting alongside Mike Hoop; these two have hunted together for many years.

Mike Hoop is a long-time resident of Adams County, Ohio and he loves to hunt big mature whitetail bucks with his Hoyt bow.

Mike's passion is to practice good quality deer management on his family's farm, thanks to his loving parents for whom this would not be possible.  Adams County is Mike's father's childhood home.  He has told Mike many stories about how there were no deer in Adams County when he grew up, due to poor management practices.  So Mike has made it his goal to personally and responsibly practice sound management. Mike's long-time friend and hunting partner, Dean Widmann, also feels the same way.  They will be

filming each as they hunt this fall, and man, are they stoked for the upcoming season with Midwest Whitetail.

Dean & Mike's 2010 Hit List

"10 PM"

This mature buck is a great 8-pointer that just appeared on the property. Our little piece of heaven borders thousands of acres of private, non-hunted ground so it's not uncommon for a new buck to show up in the soybeans.  This buck was on the hit list last year and he's back on for the 2010 season.  I haven't been able to get the buck on video or trail camera as he's staying on a neighboring property right now.  I'm confident that he will make an appearance this year.

"Pretty Boy Floyd"

This is a mature buck that I encountered last fall but couldn't get wtihin range.  The video is from last November but he is back, bigger and better this year.  He's at the top of the list.

"Train Wreck"

The name says it all for this mature bruiser.  I also encountered this buck last season but couldn't get a shot.  I've got my out eye out for him this year and when he shows up, Mike and I will have the Hoyts at full draw.

The following words are Dean and Mike's.

"10 PM": This buck is a long-time resident of the property.  We chased him hard last fall but never had a chance to put an arrow in him.  He's back bigger than ever this year and ranks high on the hit list.

"BULLWINKLE": Once again, a new buck has moved into the area, at least for the summer.  Hopefully, he sticks around so one of us can put a tag on him.
