Jimmy and Zach Sutter

20090902153228880.jpgJimmy Sutter has 3 brothers Brian, Shane (co-host of the MO show), and Zack and they love hunting and spending time together. Jimmy is 25 years old from Palmyra, Missouri.  He has been working as a lineman at a local power company for the past 5 years.  Jimmy attended lineman school in Pratt, Kansas.  He also has a little girl named Presley who is 5 years old, and he hoping someday she will grow into his hunting partner.

Jimmy started his hunting career at a young age going out with his dad.  He has a lot of great memories of being in the woods together.  One of the things he remembers most is his dad painting his face for the hunt.  Hunting has always been a passion of Jimmy’s and being on the Missouri team has increased the love he has for the outdoors and hunting even more.

20090910094915606.jpg Zach Sutter is the youngest of three brothers Shane, Jimmy, and Brian.  Despite having three great brothers, his hunting partner for a majority of the season will be his cousin Cole Sutter, who is more like a brother than a cousin.

The biggest challenge for the Sutters, from a hunting standpoint, will be the need to learn two new pieces of ground.  The Sutters lost their regular hunting ground and had to start to from scratch.  Zach's goal this hunting season is to shoot a lot of does and harvest a mature buck aging  4 1/2, or older.  It would be a definite bonus if that buck were also teh largest taken by the Sutter family.  Bragging rights are nice to have at the family get-togethers!

This school year, Zach will be attending Illinois Central College in Peoria.  This is about a two hour and 45 minute drive from his hometown of Palmyra ,Missouri.  As you can imagine, college is going to cut into Zach's hunting time but not as deeply as you might think.  Fortunately, he does not have class on Fridays and as crazy as this might seem, Zach will be making that long drive home every weekend.  This means a lot of road time right after class on Thursday and a lot of late night drives on Sunday.  The upside is three full days of hunting every week.  Just like any other hunter, when primetime comes around, Zach will be finding a way to squeeze in a few extra days of stand time.  So much for Chemistry 101.

Jimmy's 2009 Hit List

As mentioned earlier, Jimmy and Zach will spend a lot of time hunting with his brothers Brian and Shane.  They will be sharing the same hit list this season.

The following words are from the Sutter brothers.

"PLANTER":  We have nothing but bad memories with this deer.  Several members of our team have had encounters with him.  Joe Knochel hit this deer in mid-October and I filmed his brother Rick shoot at him, as well.  In late bow season, I watched him slip past me, just out of range.  He is a monster of a Missouri whitetail and we were fortunate to find one of his shed antlers and my dad found the other side while planting beans in the spring.  His sheds from last year scored in the 170s.  The only bummer is, due to complications with where this buck lives, we will only be able to hunt him during the late season.

"CASPER"  is a 4 1/2 year old we videoed and had several encounters with last year.  He has blossomed from a 125-inch 8-pointer to a 150-inch 9-pointer.  I am looking to get on this deer from the start of the season to mid-October.

"SATCHEL": This is at least  a 4 year old and we have several trail camera pictures of him. We think he is going to score in the low to mid 150s. We are looking to get on this deer late in October to mid-November.

"HUMMER": This is a new deer for us this year. He is 140-145 inch 10 pointer that is on the hit list for now, because we are unsure of his age. We only have one set of trail camera pictures and it was difficult to tell whether he is 3 1/2 or 4 1/2.  If we find he is 3 1/2, any encounters with him will end with him walking away - until next year.

"PRINCE": This buck is a beautiful main frame 10-pointer that is 4 1/2 years old. We are hoping to get on this deer in mid-October and all the way through November.
