Jeff Mullins
is from southern Ohio where he lives with his wife Leslie and two sons Justin(22) and Ryan(18). Justin played NCAA football as a place kicker at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY where he graduated with a degree in Sports Management. He will serve as Jeff's primary partner this season. Ryan is also a place kicker/punter and has signed as a punter with Ashland University, in Ashland Ohio. Ryan will be running the camera this year when his schedule allows. Jeff will also be hunting with his brothers Erik and Jerry and nephew Jarrod from time to time. Jeff is primarily a tree stand hunter, but likes to use a ground blind when hunting near fields or food plots. Jeff works as an industrial maintenance technician for Kenworth Truck Co. on 3rd shift giving him options for hunting late mornings, mid-day or evenings depending on what the deer are doing. Jeff mostly hunts the local small woodlots, crop lands and Frigid Forage food plots. He likes to use aerial photos on his computer where he maps out stand placements and stand entry routes for minimal disturbance. Jeff is also a wildlife artist with pencils and watercolors as a hobby.

Justin Mullins is from southern Ohio also and is working on his internship at Rio Grande University in the sports department. Justin graduated from Morehead State University with a degree in Sports Management and served as the kicker for the Eagles football team. He is 22 years old with an 18 year old brother named Ryan that will be doing some filming this year. Justin is primarily a tree stand hunter, but will be doing some hunting off the ground in the blind overlooking fields and food plots. He has taken deer with his compound bow, shotgun, muzzleloader and crossbow. Justin has two years under his belt filming and hunting for Midwest Whitetail. In 2010 Justin harvested a buck on film for the show. Still dealing with time constraints due to college he took a buck that gave him a chance for some good footage for the show. In 2011 his plans, as with Jeff’s are to stick to hunting the bucks that make it to the hit list.

2010 Hit List
“ King of the Hill”
This is a new buck on our hit list but made it to the top. He is a solid 150” buck. The only footage we can get of him is from a great distance, but we know he is at the top. He’s a good heavy 10 point with long main beans and good mass. The only problem he has been hanging out on a neighboring farm we don’t have permission to hunt. We are hoping the Frigid Forage Big and Beasty food plot will bring him across thefence for good.
“ Little Big Horn”
This is a buck that Erik had on his hit list last year along with the buck he took “Broken”. Late in the season he stopped frequenting the hunting spot Erik had and moved across the highway to Justin and my spot. I had him coming in once and actually got within bow range when he caught me moving and left quite abruptly. Justin also was out just filming one day when he got some footage of him in the brush.
“Basic 10”
While out shed antler hunting this winter Justin found several sheds and this one was the best that we found the entire time out hunting. The buck was one we hadn’t seen throughout the year while hunting and scouting this farm. With good reason, where Justin found the shed was an area of the farm we didn’t concentrate much effort last year.
"New High 8"
Justin had just acquired us permission to hunt the land where this big 8 point hangs out. He was talking with his girlfriend’s grandfather and one thing led to another and he granted us permission. We don’t know much about him other than he’s a good framed 8 point with high G2’s. As we check out the land and get more encounters we will keep you posted.
“Mistake”
This 8 point wasn’t on the list early on in the season last year but found himself on it as gun season approached and I was less picky. We usually hunt with bows up to and through the Thanksgiving holiday then the Ohio gun season starts the following Monday. This buck came in on a string last year on Saturday after Thanksgiving and was doing everything we wanted him to. I was waiting for Justin to give the OK that he was on him but I never got it. Unfortunately in the rush of this buck coming in he forgot to loosen up the pan lock on the camera mount and right as the buck turned broadside he walked out of the camera view. Maybe this year.
2009 Hit List
Jeff and his sons are primarily tree stand bowhunters. However, they will use a ground blind when hunting near fields or food plots.
The following words are Jeff's.
“HIGH 8”: This buck was first seen during the summer of 2007 where he had a noticeably high rack with 8 points. We didn’t see him at all last season, however, this summer he seems to have the same high-setting rack giving him the name “High 8”. It appears his pattern is the same, so hopefully Justin or I will get a shot at him. He looks to go in the low 130”s unless some of the points at the base become measurable.
“DAISY”: This buck would be a little upset if it knew we named it “Daisy”. He got his name because the first time we saw him he was eating in a field of daisies. We were heading to town and we always take the long way to swing by our hunting area to check for deer. We saw this buck with some of his friends. He is definitely on our hit list.
