Kyle Trambaugh is an electronic technician, supporting the nation's war fighters abroad. Kyle lives in southern Indiana and has four daughters Taylin(10), Kallin(7), Colleen(5) and Karcyn(1).  Kyle enjoys hunting federal, state and some private land. The majority of Kyle's hunting is done in “big woods” locations of Indiana, which in itself provides a unique set of challenges.  There are plenty of old grown up clear cuts that provide excellent cover for the "Hoosier" bucks Kyle will pursue this season.

Kyle's 2011 Hit List

"Perfection"

20110718090418172.jpg

My Dad and I saw this buck while leaving after a late season (morning) hunt in January last year... To me this is the buck of my dreams, especially if he grows a little... He is number one on my hitlist.  I put out a pile of corn in the general area we saw him last year and hope to get some trail cam pictures in September and August this year.

"TomMiss"

My Dad, Tom, missed this deer during gun season last year.  It was a text book opportunity - 40 yd broadside (He hit a limb).  I have known about this buck for several years.  I believe I know his core area now and hope to get some new pictures in August - September.

"Droopy"

Here is a buck that was on my hit list last year, but he wasn't quite big enough to be a shooter just yet.  Hopefully this year he has put on some inches and we will cross paths.  I will keep my eye out for him and hope to get some good footage and trail cam pictures of him before the season.

Kyle's 2010 Hit List

"Train"

We encountered this buck last year during the heat of the rut.  There were too many trees between us and the deer, and I was unable to get a clean shot.  We have since cleared the area in hopes that he will make the same mistake this year. The area is really difficult to get in and out of clean due to it being in a valley, but the deer love all the red and white oak tree’s in this area.  Being a wide and symmetrical 10, he is an impressive deer!

This is a buck that was very photogenic in 2009!  We had several pictures of this buck and I am sure we are set up in his core area. I have yet to encounter him in 2010, but I firmly believe he will show up soon.

"Ghost"

Is an old buck that we have pictures of in 2008 and 2009.  He is at the least a 5.5 year old buck and very high on the hit list. I do not expect him to show up until mid to late October.  We will be moving a stand into his area very soon.

"Broad Beam"

Another old buck that is in the same core area as Ghost and several other nice bucks.  As you can see, this deer has very thick main beams and carries the mass all the way to the end of his main beams.  He is at least 4.5 years old and has a huge body.  Looks like he is fairly nocturnal,  so we will be waiting till the rut to go after this one!

"Droopy"

I filmed this buck early in the year, Droopy (1) (Small).JPGAugust 1st to be exact.  I set a trail camera in the vicinity where I had first seen him.  I have since gotten a couple trail camera pictures, and have come to the conclusion that he is too young, and will need at least another year.  In velvet he seems fairly impressive, but hard antlered he is not so.

Kyle’s 2009 Hit List

Though a lot of the areas Kyle will be hunting are still recovering from a serious bout with EHD that occured 2 years ago, there are signs that the numbers are numbers are recovering rapidly.

20090908160340369.jpgHIGH TOWER”: This buck was originally found in the '08-'09 season by a trail cam photo. The cam was placed on an old logging trail at the end of two ridges. Kyle’s dad, Tom, found the location when doing some early September scouting.   But as you can see, the buck was at least a 3.5 year old then. Kyle is diligently trying to get back on this buck in the '09-'10 season.

Here is a video of what "High-Tower" is looking like this year.  He is an awesome buck that will be near the top of Kyle list.

20090908160354924.jpgPERFECT TEN”: This buck was also captured on a trail cam picture along with High Tower, The two actually began sparring for some really cool pics.  Although at the time the deer was not fully mature, Kyle hopes to get a glimpse of him in the '09-'10 season as he believes the buck will be a shooter this year.

CROOKED HORN” : Another buck caught at the same location should be a good looking mature buck this year.  Kyle is going to be running trail cameras in this area this year to see if he can get some pictures of "Crooked Horn" this year.  Kyle suceeded in killing this buck in the in the 2009 season on November 17th. To see the hunt, click here.

Here are the latest pictures of "Crooked Horn".  He showed up around the 18th of September.  "Crooked Horn" has put on a few inches this year, Kyle will have to see him up close this season before releasing an arrow from the AlphaMax, or dropping the hammer on the TC!

20090929115254558.jpg"BRINE NINE":  This buck just showed up at a mineral lick. He is obviously fully mature, and will be near the top of the hit list for sure. Kyle is also getting pictures of this buck during daylight hours so that is a plus, as well.

Kyle plans on getting trail camera photos of these bucks to determine tree stand locations as the season approaches.   We'll keep you updated.
