David Fast grew up in the heartland of America in the northwest corner of Missouri. When he's not in the woods or spending time with his wife, he works as a Radiologic Technologist at a Rural Community Hospital. David also spends his fall and winter running the football field and the basketball court as a referee for the state of Missouri.
David began hunting at a young age with his father and brother. His brother was the first to take him day-in day-out during the Missouri firearms season. As he grew older, he began taking friends with him to enjoy the outdoors, and eventually got into bowhunting. In 2007, David started doing a little filming for his hunting partner Jesse Bolin and you will find them hunting together again this season for Midwest Whitetail.
David hunts mostly leased farmland with small timber plots, and the occasional river bottom farm. He believes in letting younger, immature bucks walk so that they may someday reach their full potential. He also believes in harvesting plenty of does to control the deer population on his farms. He plants small food plots in secluded areas to keep those deer stopping by his stands regularly. David is excited for the upcoming season to show the viewers of Midwest Whitetail the quality of deer in Missouri. He has put in a lot of time this year with food plots, trail cams and video camera, and now it’s time for his hit list to unfold. With the season opening on September 15, it also time for the deer to start hitting the ground.
David's Hit List
The following words are David's.
"AVERAGE JOE": This buck is an up and comer for the hit list. I don’t think he will make it this year, he is just not old enough. He has awesome potential if he makes it through the year. Hopefully, he will show back up here next year.
"LIL DROP": This buck is on the list as of now hoping that he will grow a little more before the season starts. Over the last two weeks he has been all over the place and I got more than 55 pictures of him alone. He probably won’t score real high but this buck has a lot of character. The only problem is, local hunters won’t let this buck walk. This might be the only season to see him alive.
"SPLITS": This deer has shown up on the same farm running around with another 8 point. He has a nice spread, and like his name says, he has the double split brow tines making himself a 10. I am guessing that he will score around 135.
"BIG PAPI": These are the first pictures that I got of this buck. He is just a stud of an 8 pointer that has small trash coming off the base of his right brow. "Big Papi" is a nice lookin’ 8 pointer and is gonna find himself as the top deer at this farm. His projected score is around 140.
"JORDAN": This buck just showed up within the last two hours of this camera being on this farm before I pulled it to check pics. I'm calling him "Jordan" because every picture I've got, he’s got his tongue out…like His Airness, MJ. He is a 5 x 4 with good tine length and a good spread. I'm guessing this deer will go in the 140’s he may go a little higher as he is not done growing.
