Newlyweds Greg and Chris McElroy were born and raised in Ohio and will be playing the game this fall in the woods of the Buckeye State. They both love the outdoors and love the fall season, deer hunting & college football for Greg and for Chris, just football until this year. This is Chris's first hunting season; she'll take to the whitetail woods in search of her first deer.
Greg began hunting with his dad when he was 8 years old for small game and upland birds. He didn't get hooked on deer hunting until he was 14, but he has harvested many deer since. Last year, Greg took deer hunting to a new level when he began to focus on trophy class bucks. He had a few close calls, but couldn't make it happen. This year, however, he has more ground to hunt with some really nice deer, and a whole new mindset!
Greg's other hunting passion is turkeys. This past season was the best of his life! It was Chris's first time hunting, ever, and she headed to the woods with Greg. They set up and 45 minutes later had 3 longbeards at 13 yards. The camera was rolling and she lowered the boom! She was hooked! The two are really excited about this coming fall. Greg figures that if Chris can handle 3 struttin' and hammerin' toms - right in her face - she's gonna do just fine with an old buck. We'll see!

"The Back Yard Buck"

Nice wide 8 point that we saw a lot last year. We got several picks of him last year by setting a camera up in my parents back yard! He was hanging out in the corn and would come out at all hours of the day and hang in the back yard tearing up pine trees. Never got a shot at him. He's back this year and bigger!

Big buck from the same woods I killed the 138" last year! He's a freak and will probably be my #1 choice. He's a beast and I can't wait to get a crack at him.

He finally showed up on trail cam this year and we actually got good shots of him. He's a little bigger this year and has a bunch of junk around the bases.
This is Chris's buck....maybe muzzleloader before she even gets out!

This buck we only saw once last year. He's a little bigger but will be a late season kill.
Greg and Chris' 2009 Hit List
"SUPER 8": This is the number 1 buck on the hit list for Greg and Chris. He's a mature clean 8 point that is simply a pig of a buck. The anticipation of the upcoming season has to be killing these two knowing that this great buck is out there. I wonder who will get to shoot if the old boy cruises within range?
