20090916134132918.jpg Tim Martin is 37 years old and has been happily married for 11 years to his wife Julie. They have a 5 year old son named Luke and live in the small town of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania which is in south central PA, near the Maryland border. Tim has been bowhunting for 15 years and is still trying to harvest his first Pope & Young whitetail.

Tim worked at Keystone Country Store’s retail store full-time for 7 years and now continues to work part-time at the outlet during the busy seasons. Ever since he shot a bow for the first time, he has wanted to learn how to work on bows. It is definitely a passion. His full time job is with Belden, working as a customer service representative in the electronic control division. Working 8-5, and having a 5 year old son, does not leave me much time to hunt, but Tim would not change anything right now.

Besides archery, Tim's
other interests include fishing and sports. He helps coach his son’s T-ball team and as he gets older, Tim plans to be involved in football and basketball with him.  Tim loves watching college football, and being from PA, he is a HUGE Penn State fan! "WE ARE…PENN STATE!"

Tim stated that he could be bribed into rooting for Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, or Indiana with a hunt in one of those fine whitetail states (as long as they are not playing Penn State that day).

Son Luke has really taken an interest in the outdoors. Tim and his father always make it a point to include Luke in their deer recoveries whether it is a buck or doe. Luke loves to be involved and it is a great way to get three generations together in the outdoors. Tims believes in the statement:“Take your child hunting, then you won’t have to hunt for your child”.

In September of 2006, Tim had a life changing accident. He was hanging a tree stand, alone, on a Sunday morning before work and fell 25 feet. He has always used a safety belt while hunting, but not when hanging stands, which is even MORE important. A good safety harness, like the one from Muddy Outdoors, is essential for safe hunting. As a result of the fall, Tim ended up with a shattered right wrist, two broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, a ruptured spleen, and a dislocated finger.

If he had not had a cell phone with me, there is no telling how bad the outcome could have been. His cell phone was broken and he could not hear thru it, but thankfully he was still able to get a 911 call out with it. The hour and a half of lying in the woods alone was the worst time of my life! After being airlifted from a farm field to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, and multiple surgeries to fix broken bones, all turned out OK.

According to Tim, "I thank God everyday for giving me a chance to watch my son grow up. If there is anything good that came from my accident, it is that a lot of people in my area that now wear safety harnesses that did not before. Fortunately, all of my injuries have healed and I am able to continue hunting as I did before; but I will NEVER leave the ground without a safety harness!"

Tim is excited to be a part of Midwest Whitetail’s Pennsylvania team and is hoping for a great hunting season.

20090916134148144.jpg Jeff Peck. is 38 years old and happily married to his wife Judy. They and are blessed with 2 beautiful children Kayla and Jared.  Like Tim, Jeff lives in Waynesboro.  he works in the research and development department at Grove Worldwide, which is a leader in the manufacture of hydraulic cranes.  Jeff also owns a trout farm where he raises rainbow, brook, brown, golden and tiger trout.  In addition to his passion for whitetail hunting, Jeff enjoys going out west elk hunting where he has been fortunate to kill 2 nice bulls, a 5X5 in 2005 and a 6X6 in 2007.

Jeff also enjoys spending time with his family and going to sporting events.  His children are heavily involved in activities that Jeff also enjoys.  He is the coach of his son’s baseball team and a member of the board of directors for the area Youth League.  Jeff's wife also coaches their daughter’s softball team.  Jeff is excited to be a part of Midwest Whitetail and is looking forward to sharing his hunts with you this year.

According to Jeff: "Attached you will find pictures of the Whitetail buck I killed in PA in 2008. I hunted this buck the entire bow season but I never saw him. I knew he was in my hunting area because I had several pictures of him on my trail camera. I hunted his scraps and areas he traveled. There is a lot of hunting pressure in south central PA and usually mature bucks become nocturnal and only move during daylight hours in the heat of the rut.  Unfortunately PA bow season usually goes out just as the rut is getting in full swing. This is when we begin seeing the big mature bucks moving.  Most of the pictures on my trail cam were between the hours of 9:00PM and 2:00AM.  Fortunately the rut was still in full swing on the first day of PA rifle season. I harvested this buck at 2:00 in the afternoon while he was tending to a doe.  The trail cam played a significant part in my success because I would not have known the buck was in that area without it.  The trail cam pictures also played a big part in where I decided to hunt.  The first time I saw the buck with my own eyes was the day I harvested him.  So guys get your trail cams out, they give you a big advantage in scouting today! "

20090916134919951.jpg Eric Mowen is 43 years old and has been happily married for 18 years to his wife Brenda.

They have two children, 17 year old son, Jesse, and a
14 year old daughter, Carrie. The Mowens live in Waynesboro, as well.

Eric was introduced to hunting 33 years ago by his father, and has been an avid archery hunter for the past 23 years.   He's been employed by Hirschmann, a Belden Company, for over 20 years where he works in the sales department for their Electronic Controls Systems division.  Hirschmann is the worlds leading manufacturer of crane operator aids.

Eric is also the head wrestling coach at Waynesboro Area Senior High School where he's been coaching wrestling for 20 years.  Teaching and coaching today’s youth is something he enjoys tremendously.  He's always believed that your legacy is created by giving back to your family, friends, and community.

According to Eric, "I always dreamed of being a big time hunter and being on television.  Marriage, raising children, working and coaching have put that on the back burner.  I still wouldn’t trade family or those experiences for anything or anyone.  I hope by becoming part of Midwest Whitetail I can share my hunting experiences with avid hunters all over the world."

Most of Eric's hunting experiences have taken place in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.  He has also hunted whitetails in Saskatchewan and Elk in New Mexico.  He is still looking forward to shooting his first record book animal and hopes this season will award him the opportunity.

This is a big-bodied, obviously mature, buck that Team Waynesboro had some dealings with last season right when the rut started cranking.  They will be looking for a rematch this season.

This is another good mature buck that the guys found this summer.  They will rely on their trail cameras to pattern this brute.
