Clayton Turner is a life-long resident of Monroe County, Illinois where he has been employed as a golf course maintenance worker in the city of Waterloo for the past seven years. He feels fortunate enough to be born and raised in the prime whitetail habitat that surrounds the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. With the encouragement of his family and friends, Clayton decided to start filming his hunts in order to pursue a career in the hunting industry. He has been bowhunting since an early age and started hunting when he was a small child. Having friends and family who share the same interest in the great sport of hunting is most important to him. "Without the support from the people who mean the most to me, I wouldn't be the person I am today." Clayton is looking forward to a great season with Midwest Whitetail - Illinois and hopes to bring you some awesome footage.
Clayton's 2010 Hit List
"Per 8"
(short for Perfect 8pt.)
***taken on November 13, 2010
This buck is at the top of my hit list. He may not be the highest scoring deer but it is the deer I have my eye on the most. I have a picture of this buck when he was 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years. old. every season since then I've almost gotten a shot at this buck. With sheds every year after the first picture was taken and pictures from a neighboring hunter the deer is still around.
"Plus 1"
This is a new buck to one of my farms. He is another main frame 8 point with a G4 point on his right side making him an eight plus one. He looks to be at least 4 1/2 years old. At that age, unless they show really great potential, I will most likely take him out of the herd.
"Iffy"
This buck is a partner in crime with Plus 1. They visited the same bean field on a regular basis together. He is a buck that I have on my radar. I think he's about 3 1/2 years old. I like to take only 4 1/2 year old deer off this particular farm but he may be the exception. With a farm full of 8 points and an inferior gene pool, this buck may just be a management or camera man buck (if they want it).
"Ridge Runners"
Here's a group of bucks that all appear to be good bucks. A couple may be a little bit younger than others so that may give them the chance to walk this season but there are a couple in there that will have the Hoyt shooting at them if they come by. I really liked this video because its not very often that you get a to see a group of bucks like that hanging out. I'm going to guess that they will not be together when we see them this fall.
**Footage from 2009.
"Pry Bar"
Another new buck to one of my farms, this deer looks to be at a bare minimum of 4 1/2 years old. With a high scoring typical rack, curled in main beams, crab claws to die for and a distinct prybar-like G3 point, this buck should really stand out like a sore thumb this season.
"Wide Brow"
Only distinct brow tines allow me to distinguish this deer from every other 8 point on the farm. He's going to be tough to hunt.
I have pictures of this deer when it was 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old from teh 2009-2010 season mid-summer. With only one shed
from this past spring and NO encounters ever with this deer during the hunting seasons, I am wondering if he stays in his hunting boundary.
"No Till" This buck is living on a farm surrounded by deep timber and sinkholes, the perfect habitat for a buck. This buck got his name because of his appetite for no-till soybeans, as he would frequently pass up perfect stands of taller beans to go straight to the shorter, more tender beans planted directly into the wheat stubble.

Clayton's 2009 Hit List
The following words are from Clayton.
"NO-TILL": This buck got his name because of his appetite for no-till soybeans, as he would frequently pass up perfect stands of taller beans to go straight to the shorter, more tender beans planted directly into the wheat stubble. Hanging out on high ridge-top fields that have great views of the ground around him "No-Till" is going to be a hard buck to hunt come fall. He could be hard to find considering he is on a 1200+ acre farm that has a lot of surrounding hunting pressure. I hope to harvest this buck in the deep timber that surrounds this trophy's hang-out.
"PERFECT 8": Is a buck that lives close to my home on one of the farms I have managed for the past several years. It's a buck that he has history with that includes sheds from the past two years, trail camera photos, and encounters on stand. "You can say I have a vendetta for this buck. He has outsmarted me for the past two years, and I'm hoping he makes one more mistake when the camera is rolling. I'll be ready this time."
"WIDE BROW": I gave this buck his name because of his distinctive brow tines. They sprout off his main beams higher up than normal. This deer is no stranger. Trail camera photos show this deer to be living in the same general area for the past few years. This buck is on the same farm as "Per-8", so I'm hopeful to see at least one of the two this fall."
"BLURRY" - The early morning dew on this Moultrie camera caused the photo to appear "Blurry" so I just called him "Blurry". Not knowing exactly what type of deer he is, I have the trail cameras running hard to get more pictures of this buck. The buck looks mature, has a lot of mass and height to his rack so I'd like to get a better look.
