Christian Seidl is 34 years old and married to his great wife (Paula) of almost ten years. Together they have two soon-to-be huntresses, Tessa (7) and Kylee (5).
Chris has been hunting and fishing since he could follow his dad and the dog into the brush. He was brought up bird hunting but was given a bow on his 12th birthday. With no success that year, Chris put the bow away. When he was 14, he moved and that is the year he started hunting with Jason Christianson, who will be his camera operator this year for Midwest Whitetail. It was 1992 when Chris and Jason decided to really take up bowhunting. That year, Jason killed a deer and they were hooked. Nineteen years and many deer later, Chris and Jason are ready to step up to the next level; hunting with a camera for Midwest Whitetail.
This fall they are going to be hunting mostly private land in the Little Falls area down to the Millaca area and then all the way down to the SE metro Mississippi River bottoms. Chris and Jason have so many great opportunities around Minnesota that they like to move around. It also helps them keep areas fresh and never over hunted. The deer on Chris's hit list this year are all in the Little Falls area. The deer Chris and Jason hunt in the metro are very nomadic because of the constant changing of food sources so locking down a pattern can be difficult. Their Metro hunting area serves more as a funnel for the deer and when the rut is in full swing, bucks move through the area all day long. There are some giants in the SE metro area and last year Chris was fortunate enough to harvest a 5 1/2 year old mature buck. Its a great area to hunt and they hope to team up during the rut for some fast action near the city.
Chris Seidl's 2010 Hit List
(Little Falls Bucks - hunting with Jason Christianson)
Jason and I will be hunting together but we split our hit lists up this year between two of our properties (see Jason's bio page for the other half of our hit list). The piece of property we have up here we cannot control so there is sometimes pressure from hunting, atvs, and human traffic. This year for some reason it has been left alone!!!! We hope to see one of these big boys in the tree! Come follow us and see if we can put one down in either the Metro or here this season! See you in the tree.
"Wally"
This is our number one up north but he is now I believe 5 1/2 this year and even harder to see this year. He has turned into a main frame 8 with two kickers on his g2 on the right . We are going to try to get a crack at him early and maybe before the gun season rolls around , after that this farm becomes a desert . The gun pressure and the inability to control the farm makes for a very challenging place to kill mature deer tough but the deer are here that s the most important!!!
"Tank "
This deer is number two but probably our best deer we have a chance of seeing up here , we have some daylight pics of him and seems to be all over the farm!! He is a clean 8pt with a second brow on his left side. He looks to be at least 3 1/2 and over 250 on the hoof !!! Jay wants to see him on the wall!!
"Doublebrow"
Our number three deer may have disappeared already but a stud none the less, I have not got him on the trail cam since July but hopefully he shows up .
"G4"
This buck is another we might see up here, he is a main frame 9pt with a great G4 on his left side giving him his name. We have gotten a few daylight pics of him so we might have a chance .
Jason's 2010 Hit List
(Metro Bucks)
"Bullwinkle"
This buck is a main frame ten point who is pretty wide and has good tine length. Bullwinkle got his name because of the early June pics we got of him. He literally looked like a small bull moose. His antlers came straight out the side of his head, were slightly palmated and showed no sign of turning up any time soon. He is one of the biggest bucks we have seen on this property in the last 5 years. We have a few Trail cam pics of this deer from early June and have videoed him in a nearby field on 3 occasions. We do not believe he is living on the property we hunt but he is living very close by. Due to the fact that we have gotten very few pics of him thus far we are counting on the rut to give us a good chance at this Buck. He will be well worth the wait.
"BP"
This buck showed up on trail cam for 3 days straight in early July. We knew he had good potential but after early July he disappeared. Just recently he showed back up on a trail cam on our property. Our thoughts were correct. He has grown into a very nice 10 point with a “Bonus Point” just after his G2 on his right main beam. Hence the name “The BP Buck”. As of right now our plan to take this Buck is to sit in the area where we have gotten the trail cam pics. He seems to visit the area on a very limited basis so getting a crack at him in the early season is going to be based solely on luck. Being in the right place at the right time. If he does not present himself in the early season we are very confident that he will be around during the rut.
"Rocky"
Of the three hit list bucks Rocky is by far the most visible. Rocky got his name simply because of all the time he spends at our mineral rock. We have a multitude of trail cam pics and have filmed him in the nearby field on a couple of occasions. He visits a mineral lick and waterhole on an every other day basis. He shows up at all hours of the day and seems to have no problem with day time activity. He will be our #1 candidate for an early season kill. If we are not presented with a good shot opportunity in the early season we should most definitely get a crack at him come the rut.
"Curly"
This buck has only been seen on one occasion. We filmed him one evening on a nearby field. We have not gotten a single trail cam pic of this deer to date. He is a solid 8 pointer with a broken G2 on his right side. Not a monster but definitely respectable. His body characteristics have lead us to believe that he is at the very least 3.5 years old. The abnormal G2 gives him some neat character as well. As I have said so many times all ready. We are hoping to see this buck when the rut hits since it is quite obvious he does not spend a lot of time on our property right now.
Chris's 2009 Hit List
The following words are Chris's.
All of the areas we hunt outside the metro are heavily hunted during firearm season so management is very hard but we just set our standards and sometimes eat tags! The last 5 years have been very good to me and I have had the opportunity to use my tag every year on a mature whitetail.

"WALLY": He is a 4 year old 10-pt with a sticker point on his right G2. He looks to be in the mid-140's. He is on my biggest farm so I have high hopes of tagging him!

"RIPLEY": He is a 4 year old 9-point who seems to be very nocturnal and I think jumps the river to Camp Ripley during the season. He is in the solid 140's and at the top of my list, as well . A big chunk of the property where he lives was logged this year so I am going to be learning the new woods.

"GNARLY": Another buck in that woods is a gnarly a old 10-point. I think he is on his way down but a cool deer nonetheless. I have not seen him this year but got late season trail photos so I know he made it through gun season . We’ll see.
"HOOK and PRETTYBOY": "Hook" is a 3 year old 7-point with a neet hook on his G2 on the 3-pt right side . "Prettyboy" is a perfect 10-point that might be too young so I have to see him with my eyes to decide whether to take him.

"Hook"
"Prettyboy"
We just got permission on two 120-acre farms near the Millaca area that we are just starting to figure out, so hopefully we'll have some more bucks to add to the Hit List!!
