Matt Amis is 36 years old. He started deer hunting at the age of 11 with his dad and they still hunt together today.
Matt has worked as lineman at IPL for 17 years. He hunts and videos with his friend and co-worker, Nick Goodman. Matt has been married for 17 years to his high school sweetheart, Dana, and they are the parents of 7 daughters. They are very blessed to have such a great family. Matt hopes for some of his girls to get their first kills on the Midwest Whitetail cameras.
Matt has lived in Putnam County his whole life. Most of his hunting takes place on private land. Matt and Nick also hunt Clay, Parke, Morgan, & Jackson counties. This year they are branching out to an Urban Zone area, and also a Military Refuge hunt, in the hopes of expanding their opportunities to put bucks down on film.
Matt and Nick are actively practicing deer management on the properties wehre they can, limiting their kills to mature bucks, and working to provide food plots where practical. They are also able to hunt a farm in northcentral Missouri, and they do that as often as they can. Matt is passionate about hunting whitetails, and the challenge of capturing that hunt on film has made it an even greater thrill.
He is the co-founder of Hunter's Hangout, a social network website devoted to hunters, and that has been a lot of fun for him. Aside from hunting, Matt enjoys coaching, and watching his girls play sports. Matt also plays softball, and basketball himself, when he can find time. He also spends a lot of time working at his church whenever he is needed.
Nick Goodman is 28 and lives in Morgan County, Indiana where he was born and raised. The good Lord has blessed Nick with an amazing family, his beautiful, understanding , and patient wife, Cassie, and his three children, Broden (5), Ryder(4), and his baby girl Emeri(1). He too is a power lineman for the local utility.
Nick has been hunting since elementary school, "My grades were never the same after I started hunting," says Nick. Nick and Matt will be hunting many different parts of Indiana and Missouri. Each of these areas has its own challenges that demand new strategies. Proper deer management is something they strive to accomplish on the properties they hunt. Food plots are a big part of their year-round effort to provide them with opportunities at mature bucks. They encourage everyone to work hard at good deer management.
Matt and Nick's Hit List
The following words are from Matt and Nick.
“BIG SHOW”: "Big Show" is an awesome main-frame ten who doesn’t mind showing off his impressive headgear. With super tine length, great mass, and long main beams, he may push 170”. He is a super buck anywhere, and you can see why is at the top of our hit list for this year.

“HOYT”: Hoyt is a cool non-typical, who gets his name from the split parallel beams he wears proudly. This buck has great headgear and survivor skills, making him a real challenge. We will be working hard to make “Hoyt” an Alpha Max victim this fall.
