I have a standing agreement with most of my camera guys that if a mature buck comes out and I don't want to shoot him, they are welcome to shoot it as long as I can get it on film. They carry their bows, tags, guns, hand grenades, whatever is legal. Needless to say, the camera guys have a lot of fun filming me!
Chad Lathrop was filming me on November 14 when a dandy mature ten pointer came out. It wasn't a buck I wanted to shoot at that time. Chad became the hunter and I became the cameraman. Unfortunately, Chad shot right over that buck at 32 yards and fell into a bad case of bowhunter's depression. He wouldn't let me show the miss on Midwest Whitetail, so this is the first I have mentioned it.
Saturday, we were once again hunting the same field, except now it is the late muzzleloader season. I had my Hoyt and Chad carried the TC and the camera. When the same buck stepped out to the edge of the woods there was a mad scramble in the tree as we changed places and Chad once again became the hunter.
