20091001113752012.jpgEric Wilson is 34 years old and resides in Delaware County, Indiana.  He is married and the father of three future whitetail hunters.  The oldest of which, Brayden (5 years old), has already been in the stand with old dad.  According to his dad, “Brayden is pretty impressive with his knowledge of deer hunting.  He loves it and lives it.”

Eric is a general contractor/custom home builder and firefighter for the Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Company in Muncie, Indiana.  He has grown up in Delaware and Randolph counties and will be hunting private farms throughout these counties.  “I am very fortunate to have some really nice, unique properties to hunt that hold some very large bucks.”  He uses a variety of techniques to scout and harvest these bucks, including the use of game cams, field plots, topographic maps, and glassing in the mornings and evenings.  This should be a good year for Eric, so stay tuned.

Eric’s Hit List

The following words are Eric's.

20091001113729470.jpg"7/ELEVEN":  This buck has really grown in antler size this past year.  In this shot, he was a tall 8 point.  Since then he has picked up his G4’s and quite a bit of mass.  I have not been able to catch him on the Stealth game cam yet this year, but the land owner has viewed him through binoculars on several occasions.  This buck resides in a pine forest and in the past shows up on the game cam around 7am or 11pm; hence his name the 7/Eleven buck.

"SPLIT G2":  This buck has a huge body this year and has also gained his G4’s, making him an eleven point.  He has a split G2, hence his name the Split/2 buck.  I have been watching this buck for the last 3 years and he is a definite shooter this year.  I have two more bucks on my hit list that are much more impressive antler-wise, but if this buck walks within bow range, the Hoyt’s bringing him home with Papa.

"BOW-WINKLE":  Unfortunately, I have not been able to capture this buck on the Stealth cam, but have watched him through my binos on several occasions.  He is an amazing buck with huge brow tines and lots of mass.  He resides in a small 5-acre woods connected by a treel ine to a much larger 100 acre woods.  This buck is very smart and spooky so I will have to be very careful this year not to run him out of the small patch.  He is rubbing on trees the size of telephone poles.  I can’t wait to see this buck up close and personal.  He is at the top of my hit list.

"Drop-Dead":  As you can probably tell from his name, this buck has a huge drop tine on his left G2.  He is an amazing buck.  I have been unable to get Stealth cam pictures of this buck as the area he resides in also has thieves that frequent the area.  I have viewed him on three occasions last year and he is a monster.  He has great mass and huge brow tines with stickers all around them.  I took an eleven point out of this woods last year that has the same characteristics.  I can’t wait to get this buck within bow range.  He is a definite shooter!!
