Jason Pedersen was born on May 13, 1977 in Geneva, NY. He moved to Waynesboro, PA with his family in 1981. At the age of twelve, he started hunting rabbits and pheasants with his father in the orchards and farm fields of south central PA. In high school, Jason started bowhunting and going to archery shoots with his church youth group leader, Tabb Justus. This quickly became a passion for which he found himself committing endless hours of target practice and trips into the woods. His experience in the sport grew as they traveled to MD and NY on small hunting trips.
Jason was recognized for his indoor archery shooting talent and was picked up as a pro-staff shooter for PSE and then AR. He shot for PSE for 3 years. In 2004, Jason had an opportunity to film for the TV show “Hunts to Remember”. He worked for the show for 3 years. He made the switch to a new show in 2007 called “Trails and Traditions TV". In 2006, Jason became a pro-staff member of “Celebrate the Hunt”. This is an organization that is sharing outdoor experiences with their fellow hunters at sportsman’s dinners. Through these experiences, Jason had the privilege to hunt elk in Colorado and Idaho; black bear in Canada; and whitetail in the Midwest. These trips inspired Jason’s love for the diverse hunting opportunities of North America.
Jason married the love of his life, Jessica, in 2003. They were blessed with a wonderful baby boy named Westin in March 2009. And they also have a yellow lab named Mary. For full time employment, Jason is a HVAC service technician. Jason and Jessica have always enjoyed hunting together. Now they are looking forward to passing on the passion for the outdoors to the next generation and sharing their experiences with you on Midwest Whitetail.
Tabb Justus was born October 1, 1963 in the small town of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
His outdoor adventures began at a very young age, by following his father through the woods small game hunting. Upon turning twelve, the rolling hills of Pennsylvania brought many seasons of learning the patterns and principles of hunting whitetail and eastern turkey. The successful harvest of his first buck brought a passion for hunting that has only grown through the years.
In June of 1982, Tabb married his high school sweetheart, Laura. The Lord blessed the couple with two beautiful children. In 1984, Tabb moved his young family to Potter County, PA. It was during this time that he served as a deputy game warden with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and commenced a career in sales and marketing.
Advancing in his sales position, brought Tabb a new opportunity in 1989 to move back to his hometown of Waynesboro. While the 1980’s brought the passion of bowhunting into Tabb’s life, it was the 1990’s that he excelled in the world of tournament archery. In 1995, Tabb spearheaded an indoor archery ministry at his church as an outreach to the hunting community. The ministry has grown into one of the largest family ministries in the tri-state area, with weekly archery shoots and an annual Sportsman’s Dinner.
In 2000, Tabb began traveling to the Midwest in pursuit of larger whitetails. In 2002, he harvested a non-typical whitetail scoring 162 2/8 inches, of which he shared his story in September 2003 issue of North American Whitetail Magazine. His trophy room includes whitetail deer, black bear, and elk. Over the years, he has been blessed with opportunities to hunt all over North America.
In May of 2004, Tabb became pro-staff member for “Hunts to Remember” a national hunting show on the Sportsman’s Channel. In 2006 he became a sub-contracting field producer working with “Trails-N-Traditions TV". In 2006, Tabb started “Celebrate the Hunt” ministry. This is an organization that is sharing their outdoor experiences with fellow hunters at sportsman’s dinners. Tabb is looking forward to sharing his outdoor experiences with the viewers of Midwest Whitetail.

Jason and Tabb's Hit List
The following words are from Jason and Tabb:
These are the best two deer that we have been able to get pictures of so far this year in PA. Don't forget that we do most of our hunting on public land and very small tracts of private land.
It is impossible to manage for "Trophy Deer" in this type of hunting but we have been able to bring the "Quality" up from spikes and four points to 2 1/2 to even sometimes 3 1/2 year old deer. Here are two examples of Quality deer not necessarily Trophy Deer.
"THE WIDE EIGHT POINT": He is wider than his ears but we believe he is 2 1/2 years old. This could be the best deer on this mountain so sometimes you need to set your sights on what you believe is the best you can do in the area you hunt. This is a "Quality Deer" and deserves our best efforts.
"SPEAR HEAD": We call this buck "Spear Head" because he is a main frame 6 point with a sticker that sticks straight off the front of his head. We believe that this buck is 2 1/2 years old but is very respectable for this area.
