Don't give up yet.  Though the bucks are tied up with does, you can still
find a few of them on their feet.  It should get better in about three or
four days.  So hang in there.

My favorite dates each year are November 6, 7 and 8.  That is because I know the biggest bucks will be on their feet those three days.   However, you need one factor working for you - the weather.  This year the weather definitely worked against us during that key timeframe and we have been playing catch-up ever since.

Now, we are facing the middle of what some people call the "lock-down" period.  The peak of breeding occurs at November 15 or 16 here in the Midwest.  During the three days leading up to this peak and the three days leading down, many of the bucks are pre-occupied with does and off the market.  You can still catch one out cruising at this time, but it is a much rarer sight than it was a week ago.

Basically, we are just putting in our time, hoping for the best and waiting until the majority of the does are bred so the bucks have to get out and look a little bit more.  During this time, we are hunting the traditional areas - near feeding areas in the evening and near bedding areas in the morning hoping to catch a buck out making the rounds looking for a doe.

In past years, it has always seemed that the timeframe from November 20 through November 26 was pretty decent after the breeding basically wraps up.  At this time, I focus nearly entirelty around food in the evenings and around travel routes (and bedding areas) in the morning.

Good luck.  It's not over yet.

Also, don't forget that many of the shows are producing two episodes per week.  I'm not planning to send out two e-mails each week to remind you, so please stop back often to look for updates to your favorite shows.
