MUZZELOADER SEASON
Posted By Ohio at 1/5/2010 12:00:00 AM
If you haven't filled all of your tags yet, there's still a chance to do it at long range. The Ohio Muzzleloader season opens Saturday, January 9th and runs until Tuesday, January 12th.

It's time to get out the old smokepoles and get to the woods.  If you don't have a muzzleloader or are looking to upgrade then check out Thompson Center's line of top quality firearms.  They are definitely worth taking the time to look at.  From the Triumph to the Encore, TC has the gun for you!

The cold temperatures and recent snow have the deer concentrating hard on the late season food sources.  Winter is here and the deer know it.  Sitting on any food source at this time of year could prove beneficial to a hunter looking to fill a tag.  The Pro Staff continues to report that the majority of sightings have been on food plots consisting of corn, beans, brassicas and winter-wheat.

Also, the bucks have definitely started shedding their antlers.  One Pro Staffer after another have reported seeing "shed bucks" and finding shed antlers.  So, if you are not wanting to take a "shed buck" be sure to take a second look before pulling the trigger.
