Huge - I Mean HUGE - Sheds from Illinois

Richard Music has been finding sheds off a huge buck in Illinois.  Here is a picture of it from this past season.

20090420073953891.jpgHere is what he has to say about the buck.  "This deer was found as a pair 2 years ago and was the first deer in history to have 33 inch main beams. Then last year only the right side was found; it scored 96 5/8".  It became the new world record for a typical shed. and this year we paired him up again.  The right side grosses 95 1/8" and the left side scores 101 3/8" this is one of the largest typical 10 pt. whitetails in the world at this time.  He would net 206" on the hoof based on the current sheds with an estimated spread of 22 inches.  It grosses 218 6/8 inches.  It is a true monster whitetail.  I hope this year I can harvest this deer... it will be a challenge."

I asked Richard if the buck still has 33 inch beams:  "HE HAD 31" BEAMS THIS YEAR.   HE IS GAINING SO MUCH MASS. I THINK HE'S 5 OR 6 (years old) NOT SURE THOUGH. I HOPE HE ADDS A FEW MORE INCHES THIS YEAR SO IT WOULD BE BIGGER THAN THE HANSON BUCK. CAN YOU IMAGINE A 10 PT. KNOCKING A 12PT. FROM HIS THRONE?"

20090420073956247.jpgRichard is planning to try to film the buck if possible this summer and film the hunt for this deer.  Maybe some day we will see more of this unbelievable buck on Midwest Whitetail.

Richard, we wish you the best of luck in your quest to shoot this unbelievable monster!
