Cavan & Steele Sulliivan were born into a hunting family with a legacy of hunting dating back to their great grandfather and grandfather who were among some of the last market/subsistence hunters in western Illinois. While the Sullivan family may no longer depend on wild game as means of survival, the attention to detail required to consistently harvest wild game has not been forgotten. The family owns 500 acres of river bottom farmland located in Menard County situated along the Sangamon River. They also have access to several other honey holes located throughout the county. They target mature whitetail bucks on these properties, as well as manage the doe populations. Hunting is not just their pastime and recreation it is also a business.In 2004, they founded Timber Valley Fresh Deer Scent. Since then they have dedicated themselves to creating a product that has gained national recognition for its freshness and effectiveness.
Cavan Sullivan owns Sullivan Pheasant & Game Farm/ Timber Valley Fresh Scent and will be wrapping up his college education with a masters degree from Western Illinois University in Biology with an emphasis in Animal Behavior. When not working the farm, Cavan enjoys doing freelance video work for the "Big Boys" as well as traveling around the globe bow hunting for big game. Three continents down and three to go. Cavan is looking forward to sharing this season with the newest team member Sydney Ashby.
Steele Sullivan is a co-owner of Timber Valley Fresh Scent and is pursuing a degree in Environmental Biology. He is a self-proclaimed hunting addict, from dove season to late winter coyote hunting, Steele spends every free second in the field. He has harvested the biggest bucks in the Sullivan family over the last several seasons, which is a fact that he will gladly share.
Sydney Ashby is a new addition to the group. She started hunting with her boyfriend, Cavan, last fall and has gotten hooked. Sydney has been practicing extensively this summer and can’t wait for the season to begin. She is studying nursing and works on the cardiac floor of Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.
