Tyler Thomas eagerly joins the prostaff of Midwest Whitetail Ohio this year. He will be hunting the southeast region of the state where the wooded hills and rolling farmland collide to make some of the best hunting in the country.
Tyler is 25 years old and just recently got married to his beautiful loving wife Jenny. Together they restored a log cabin originally built in the 1800’s and made it their home nestled in the gorgeous landscape of southeast Ohio. He cherishes his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. "It is through God that we are able to enjoy the great outdoors and all the offerings of his creation." Tyler is a Physical Education teacher where he strives to be a positive role model and shine God’s light.
Tyler lives his passion of hunting 365 days a year, he believes there is no off-season when chasing giant whitetails. In addition to bow hunting, he loves spring turkey hunting. As any avid bowhunter knows, it takes hard work and dedication to harvest big Midwest whitetails. His burning desire is to capture every moment on film as the story unfolds from shed hunting to trail cams to summer scouting to the harvest and every second in between. He is very excited to share his season with you as he teams up with his best friend Josh Garrison. They look forward to bringing the viewers up close to the action and invite you to follow the entire Midwest Whitetail season.
Tyler's 2010 Hit List
“Goal Post 8”
This is a solid main frame 8 point. He is at least 3 ½ but could be a 4 ½ year old deer. He calls my property part of his home turf. Last season I passed him up through intense encounters, in hopes that he would make it through and grow into maturity. He got his name from the high, wide frame. Certainly a nice 8 point with lots of history.
“Wicked”
Wicked has been a huge part of my hunting season for three years in a row. At 2 ½ and 3 ½ we watched him for the entirety of two full seasons. He has closed his core area down and considers himself boss on his stompin’ grounds. Now, as he turns 4 ½, Wicked has earned his spot as the number one buck on my hit list this year.
“Scoop”
This buck is a 5 ½ year old whitetail. The unique curl in his tines on the right side and the scoop of his main beam are how he gained his name. This will be my third year of hunting Scoop. We have had close interaction with Scoop before. I am hoping to close the chapter on Scoop and put a tag on him this season.
