Preparation

Greetings Midwest Whitetail Indiana fans.   Another productive day in preparation for the whitetail season.  This morning I traveled down to Hancock County, KY to finish a project we started last week on a property Will is going to be hunting in mid-October.  This is a large 300 acre property mostly made up of hardwoods.  Last week I removed and cleared a small secluded field (1/4-1/2 acre in size) in the middle of a large group of hardwoods.  My task today was to disk the field and plant this spot in purple top turnips.  I believe this is going to be a real "Honey Hole" come mid October and into the rut.  As of today all the feeders on the property are full of shelled corn and we have established several mineral sites.  At this point I have done my part and now I will allow the good Lord to do His.  We really need some rain as we are experiencing a pretty serious drought.  For the rest of the week I will continue to shoot, shoot, shoot the Hoyt and also continue to check trail cameras on the properties I hunt here in Indiana establishing my hitlist.  God Bless and have a great week.
